Swallow Brook Barn is located in Ugborough. This delightful village is ideally located in the South Hams but on the edge of Dartmoor. It has some good local pubs which are a gentle 2 minute walk from the Barn and some excellent restaurants nearby including the well known Oyster Shack. Just 5 minutes away by car is Dartmoor, which can be seen from the barn, with its various walking, riding and outdoor activities

Plymouth is 15 miles away with its shops and now excellent marina area. Salcombe and Dartmouth are both 10 miles away and Totnes which has a fantastic vibe just 5 miles. |
The barn was converted 10 years ago to a very high standard. All bedrooms are downstairs, with a combination of sleeping arrangements to satisfy (almost) any eventuality! All the bedrooms are furnished in a modern style with relaxed but luxurious a common theme. The main bedroom is seperate from the others by a small hallway for added privacy. It is large, furnished with contemporary art, and overlooks the garden. Bedroom 2 also overlooks the garden but has the benefit of an en-suite. Bedroom 3 overlooks the couryard and bedroom 4 has twin beds. Bedroom 5 has bunk beds and is therefore ideal for children.
| Upstairs the accomodation is very spacious. It is dominated by the Grand Hall which is about 60 feet long and combines a large oak dining table for 10 with a cosy relaxing area in front of the open fireplace. |
Everything is designed for large groups but such is the intimate "feel" of Swallow Brook Barn that a couple or small familly group will still feel very much "at home". |

Adjoining the Grand Hall is the entertainment room. This includes a wide screen SKY TV with DVD and video. You will find a large eclectic choice of DVDs for your stay, along with a variety of games and books to enjoy and relax with. Also upstairs is the kitchen which combines the "basics" ie dishwasher, wine cooler, fridge,freezer with a wonderful VIKING range cooker. This is great for cooking large meals and is an experience all by itself!

The garden is also great for relaxed afternoons playing badminton or just listening to the adjoining stream whilst you read a book and slumber. |
| New for 2008 is the upstairs but outside breakfast area, which allows you to enjoy eating whilst seeing how the day begins in earnest. |
Nothing about Swallow Brook Barn is hurried, it is all designed for your relaxation and enjoyment but we do have WiFi services so that if need be you can check your emails!
As with all Posh Cottages properties we are able to organise limousine transfers during your stay, in house cuisine services from local restaurants and "pampering" actviites nearby. Please allow us to help you in organising any details which you would like during your stay.
